DESCRIPTION
The CASTech vertical reactor is constructed from various materials depending on the application’s requirements. Similar to the Spinden reactor, the vertical reactor causes the rock to react with acid, but at a faster rate. The vertical reactor is used to manufacture DCP and MCP, depending on the chosen process, and generally incorporates a pre-reactor at its inlet.
The equipment features a tangential outlet at the bottom of the drum so that the material is deposited onto an aging belt (for example, the DEN belt).
The access door is provided for ease of inspection and maintenance of the blades. The shaft is mounted on two bearings and directly driven by a reduction of three helical gears. An engine speed variation drive controls the speed of rotation of the blades and helps control the reaction. The buyer is responsible for a coriolis mass flow meter in order to have feedback on the reaction and the final quality of the product.
For larger scale mixing and granulation see Spinden horizontal reactor.
