DESCRIPTION
The ABS-01 Automatic Conveyor Belt Sampler is a device designed to provide the best results in sampling solid particles from conveyor belts and conveyors. This equipment is manufactured according to the customer’s specifications, featuring a structure that houses a rodless pneumatic track which, when activated, transports a collector in accordance with MAPA’s IN-53 standard to collect the downward flow of material discharged by a conveyor belt.
The collected material is transported to the end of the conveyor belt, where a mechanism triggers the unloading of the collection cup, directing the sample into an external container.
The equipment has a collection capacity of 4,200 cm³ and its actuator operates at a speed of 1.43 m/s.
The ABS-01 is sized based on information about the conveyor belt where it will be installed, including the belt’s mass flow rate, material bed height, belt width, and operating speed. Based on this, our team can establish a standard mass and/or volumetric sampling setup, the required sampling duration, and the number of samples the customer wishes to collect, as well as the necessary intervals between samples.
Because it is based on the standard governing belt collection (IN-53), the ABS-01 is reliable and meets regulatory requirements. Furthermore, regarding its construction and operating mechanism, the ABS-01 is immune to intrinsic belt segregation (Brazil nut effect caused by vibration, or any other mechanism that causes segregation due to the feed path of the belt, such as when it is fed at a 90° angle by an elevator, chute, or conveyor belt), which, as we know, is a problem for both the process and the sampling procedure.
Customers can choose from a range of different configurations and accessories to suit their specific needs, such as the installation of collection and storage lines, the type of sample storage container, and can even opt to have a Jones-type splitter installed at the ABS-01 outlet to prepare samples for analysis right on the production floor. This special divider also features a reject chute to return unusable material to the process.
Maintenance is quick and easy, as the operator can access the equipment by removing the outer casing or inspect it through access hatches.
